So your child travels without problems
When a minor travels without both parents, authorities may require a notarised consent. Common cases:
- Travel with only one parent
- Travel with grandparents or other relatives
- School or sports trips
- Exchanges and camps abroad
- Minors travelling alone
- Separated or divorced parents

Travelling to a country outside Spain?
Many destinations require the consent in their language or apostilled. We draft it in two columns (Spanish and English) and arrange the Hague Apostille if the destination country requires it.

Frequently asked questions about travel consent for minors
Must both parents sign?
The parent who is not travelling signs. If the child travels with a third party, both parents sign; they can do so in separate video calls.
How long is it valid?
As long as you specify: a single trip with dates or a longer period. We recommend matching it to the trip to avoid issues at the border.
Is it needed for domestic flights in Spain?
Airlines may also ask for it on domestic flights when the minor travels without their parents.
Who can sign by video call?
Adults holding a valid Spanish DNI or NIE and a digital certificate. We cannot serve clients without a Spanish ID document. Each procedure allows a maximum of 4 signatories.
Do I need a digital certificate?
Yes, to sign electronically. If you don't have one, we help you obtain it before your appointment.
How long does it take?
Within 24 hours of receiving your documentation and payment we confirm the day and time of your appointment; the video call takes place on the agreed date. The electronic document is normally delivered within 24 hours of signing.
How do I receive the document?
Electronically, with a Secure Verification Code (CSV) and full legal validity. You can download it, print it and present it wherever you need.
